2015 Texas Teams Selection--IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Mark your calendars now!

The 2014 4-H Shooting Sports State Games will be the qualifying event to determine 2015 Texas Teams.

In order to give participants and families as much time as possible to plan and prepare, Texas 4-H Natural Resources Program would like to announce significant changes to the process by which the 2015 4-H Shooting Sports Texas Teams will be selected to attend that year’s National Shooting Sports Invitational. In order to align with the Texas 4-H & Youth Development Program’s selection processes for all other National 4-H Competitions, Shooting Sports will be retiring its application process in favor of a qualifying event.

Details are being finalized and will be announced on the blog, facebook page, and website, and emailed to all County Extension Offices and District 4-H specialists as soon as they have been completed.

Basic eligibility requirements/rules for Texas Team qualification will include:
  • Participant must be a minimum of 14 years of age by September 1 of the 4-H year of the qualifying State Games, be an actively enrolled member of 4-H via 4-H Connect for the current 4-H year, AND be eligible for enrollment for a minimum of one future 4-H Year. National Invitational occurs in the 4-H year following the qualifying State Games. Participants must be eligible for 4-H membership in both years.
  • Participants may only participate in one National Invitational discipline per year.
  • Participants may attend National Invitational multiple years, but may not repeat any discipline.
