  • District 7 Shotgun and Archery Coach Training (open state-wide)—March 8-9, 2014; San Angelo; Registration via 4-H Connect through February 24, 2014.
  • District 8 Shooting Sports Coach Training (open state-wide)-- March 8-9, 2014; Stephenville;  Registration via 4-H Connect through February 24, 2014. Archery, Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun

Archery Opportunity THIS WEEKEND Feb 7-9

The “Prime Total Archery Challenge” is coming to San Antonio and we want you there!  The Total Archery Challenge has partnered with Prime bows by G5 to bring San Antonio the worlds greatest out door 3D Shoot and Expo.  We work hard to provide a fun, family friendly environment where everyone can enjoy the great sport of archery.  It’s like we always say “Life… Its Better with a Bow!”

The Total Archery Challenge, or TAC, is the foremost leader in fun non-competitive outdoor 3D shoots and expos in the United States.  We work hard to provide our participants with real world archery shots in a safe and family friendly environment.  Participants can expect:

Daisy BB/4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship

Daisy BB and National 4-H Shooting Sports will offer their Shooting Sports Scholarship again this year to two applicants from across the country.  The scholarship coordinators are asking each state to submit two applications to put into a national pool and go through further review and selection for the two scholarships.

The Texas application is available by clicking here.  Submission deadline to the Texas 4-H Office is  April 1, 2014.  All details are included on the application.

Texas Dove Hunters Association Scholarship

The Texas Dove Hunters Association will be awarding six (6) $500 scholarships to high school seniors across Texas.  Interested applicants should go to their website at www.texasdovehunters.com for more details and the application.

Texas 4-H Center is Searching for Highly Motivated Summer Staff

The Texas 4-H Center on Lake Brownwood is currently recruiting and hiring individuals for their Summer Staff.  This Summer Staff works directly with the youth who attend the various summer camps and programs offered at the Center. Practice WHEP Contest--Comal County


A new Practice Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) Contest has been scheduled. This practice contest is open to anyone interested in learning more about the WHEP program or wanting to practice their learned skills to better prepare for competitive contests.  The event is open to 4-H and FFA youth and adults to participate.  The contest will be modified slightly to fit it into one day.  Officials will be presented following each contest activity.

When: February 15, 2014
Where: Comal County (Open State Wide)
Registration Open on 4-H Connect through February 11, 2014. $12/participant (Includes lunch)
