Practice WHEP Contest-Kerrville, TX DEADLINE EXTENDED!

The registration deadline for the Practice WHEP Contest to be held in Kerrville, TX on November 17, 2012 has been extended until October 28, 2012 at midnight! Register now and get your friends registered too!

2012 Texas 4-H Trap & Skeet Postal League Scores- Now Available!

2012 Trap & Skeet Postal League Scores are now posted HERE for your viewing pleasure!

2012-2013 4-H Enrollement-Early deadline approaching!

The early enrollment deadline for this 4-H year is fast approaching.  Youth must be enrolled by October 31, 2012 to take advantage of the $20 participation fee.  Please spread the word reminding everyone to get enrolled before November 1 when the participation fee increases to $25!

Program Updates!

Good Monday Morning All!

Here are a few reminders regarding upcoming Texas 4-H Natural Resources Program Events and Important Dates:

• 4-H Shooting Sports Rifle, Pistol, & Archery Postal Leagues Registration closes November 4, 2012 on 4-H Connect. New detailed instructions for each specific event will be posted this week on our website.

• Registration for the Practice Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) Contest to be held in Kerrville on Novemeber 17, 2012, will close October 21, 2012 on 4-H Connect. This is a great opportunity for youth/adults interested in or new to the project to get some hands on experience.

• Mark your calendars!
• 2013 State 4-H Shooting Sports Games-Archery & Shotgun Events-July 15-20, 2013 in San Antonio, TX.
• 2013 State 4-H Shooting Sports Games-Hunting & Wildlife, Muzzleloading, Pistol, & Rifle Events-July 22-27, 2013 in Callahan County, TX.
• Registration for ALL State Games Events will be open May 1-June 16, 2013 on 4-H Connect and will be completed by the individual (not the coach as it has been in recent years past).

Texas 4-H Shooting Sports-2013 Texas Teams

Congratulations to the young people selected to represent Texas 4-H next summer at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational Match!! 36 team members, representing 9 different event teams, and 8 alternates were selected from an exceptional pool of senior 4-H members who applied. Team members were selected based not only on shooting ability, but character and leadership qualities as well. We hope every applicant, even those who were not selected to represent a team, is proud of their accomplishments as a participant in 4-H Shooting Sports.

Special thanks to the volunteers who took time out of their schedules to attend and participate in the team selection process!

4-H Archery, Pistol, and Rifle Postal League Registration is Open on 4-H Connect

The 4-H Postal Leagues for Archery, Pistol, and Rifle are open for registration now on 4-H Connect.  Registration deadline is November 4, 2012.  Shooting can begin for these leagues on November 5, 2012 and must be completed by March 15, 2013.  Scores must be submitted to the Texas 4-H Natural Resources Office by March 31, 2013.  Scores submission will be made electronically.  More detailed information will be posted on the 4-H Shooting Sports Events and Event Results webpage under Postal Leagues.
