4-H Archery Camp--Registration Opens Monday!

Texas 4-H Archery Camp, scheduled to be held at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood on January 18-20, 2013, is open to any youth 4-H member wanting to improve their shooting knowledge and skills in recurve and compound archery.  The camp is also open to certified 4-H archery coaches desiring to learn more about coaching archery, archery equipment, archery games, and improved shooting skills.  Youth participants should have beginning or intermediate experience in shooting archery and understand the basic archery safety and  range rules and whistle commands.  Adult and youth participants must provide their own equipment.  

Registration on 4-H Connect will open Monday, November 12, 2012 and close on December 16, 2012. Registration will be $150 per youth or adult and includes lodging Friday and Saturday nights, and all meals from breakfast Saturday through breakfast Sunday (no meal will be provided Friday evening).  Registration is limited to the first 40 youth registrants and the first 10 adult coach/chaperones.  

4-H WHEP Practice Contest, Fort Boggy State Park

A Practice Contest for the Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) will be held on February 9, 2013 at Fort Boggy State Park in Centerville, TX.  This practice contest is open to anyone interested in learning more about the program or wanting to practice their learned skills to better prepare for the actual contests offered in the spring and summer.  The event is open to youth and adults to participate.  The contest will be modified slightly to fit it into one day.  Officials will be presented following each contest activity.  Registration opens on 4-H Connect on December 1, 2012 and closes January 20, 2013.

Late Registration Open-Shooting Sports Postal Leagues (Excluding Shotgun Leagues)

Late registration for 4-H Shooting Sports Postal Leagues (Excluding Shotgun Leagues) is OPEN NOW on 4-H connect. Late Registration will be open through November 9, 2012 at midnight. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete the registration as this will be the last chance to register! Register now so if any complications occur there is still time to get them resolved! No additional  registrations will be accepted after the Friday November 9, 2012 deadline.

Practice WHEP Contest-Kerrville, TX DEADLINE EXTENDED!

The registration deadline for the Practice WHEP Contest to be held in Kerrville, TX on November 17, 2012 has been extended until October 28, 2012 at midnight! Register now and get your friends registered too!

2012 Trap & Skeet Postal League Scores are now posted HERE for your viewing pleasure!

2012-2013 4-H Enrollement-Early deadline approaching!

The early enrollment deadline for this 4-H year is fast approaching.  Youth must be enrolled by October 31, 2012 to take advantage of the $20 participation fee.  Please spread the word reminding everyone to get enrolled before November 1 when the participation fee increases to $25!

Good Monday Morning All!

Here are a few reminders regarding upcoming Texas 4-H Natural Resources Program Events and Important Dates:

• 4-H Shooting Sports Rifle, Pistol, & Archery Postal Leagues Registration closes November 4, 2012 on 4-H Connect. New detailed instructions for each specific event will be posted this week on our website.

• Registration for the Practice Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) Contest to be held in Kerrville on Novemeber 17, 2012, will close October 21, 2012 on 4-H Connect. This is a great opportunity for youth/adults interested in or new to the project to get some hands on experience.

• Mark your calendars!
• 2013 State 4-H Shooting Sports Games-Archery & Shotgun Events-July 15-20, 2013 in San Antonio, TX.
• 2013 State 4-H Shooting Sports Games-Hunting & Wildlife, Muzzleloading, Pistol, & Rifle Events-July 22-27, 2013 in Callahan County, TX.
• Registration for ALL State Games Events will be open May 1-June 16, 2013 on 4-H Connect and will be completed by the individual (not the coach as it has been in recent years past).
